ESPN Sport Science on the Brewers Triple Play against the Dodgers Last Week.

Did you know that once FIELDfx is installed in every Major League park, this is how baseball is going to look all the time?

10 bucks shipped got me a sweet ‘59 Topps Sandy Koufax. The seller described it as having “heavy creasing” and being a “filler card” but the creasing is just on the surface of the front and it otherwise looks great. A very good deal for such an amazing card

So that was certainly a game last night. ::eyeroll::

Grandpa Sands has glove, will travel to see Jerry play

Nothing like hitting an RBI double and scoring when your family travels to Los Angeles to see you in the big leagues. Also, Grandpa’s awesome home-made Dodgers shirt.

eBay score: 21 issues of Sport Magazine from the 50’s & 60’s. I’m a graphic designer so I buy a lot of old magazine lots for reference/inspiration/source material. I recently snagged this lot of magazines and - wow. There are three Dodgers covers (Koufax - Man of the Year 1966!) and tons of amazing old baseball photography/stories, including a great article from 1957 about NY being left without a National League team. There’s not too much stuff in terms of the typography and advertisements that I usually look for, but more than made up for in sheer awesomeness. Oh and did I mention it was cheaaap?

While I still hate these throwbacks, I’d like to see Matt Kemp keep wearing some stirrup socks (except with pants that fit). He can keep wearing his uniform however the eff he wants though if he keeps hitting like this. Another walk off homer, so great. It’s really too bad that Kershaw couldn’t complete the game, and perhaps Mattingly should have pulled him earlier, but what a great way to end the game. Good job by Broxton, shut the haters up for another game.

As some of you know, Kate and I have recently moved to Brooklyn. Which means all the contributors to this blog are on the East Coast. I’ll get back to posting more, but we’ve been pretty busy with the move and getting settled. Plus West Coast games end super late out here. So I can use your submissions. A few guidelines, most shots of the field from the stands, or shots of yourselves at games aren’t going to get approved. News, photos, art, etc will most likely get approved as long as I feel it’s unique / cool enough and I haven’t seen it on a million Dodger blogs already. Game re-caps, opinions, whatever. Just click the submit button on the main page and there’s a good chance I’ll post it. (Include a link to your tumblr for credit and make sure to credit any photographers/news sources you have cited). There’s a good chance I’ll make you an admin if you submit enough stuff I think is blog worthy. There’s also a good chance I’ll hate everything and just keep doing it all mostly myself. Camanda always comes through with quality posts though, so hopefully there’s another like her out there that can contribute.

Pursuant to my authority as Commissioner, I informed Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt today that I will appoint a representative to oversee all aspects of the business and the day-to-day operations of the Club. I have taken this action because of my deep concerns regarding the finances and operations of the Dodgers and to protect the best interests of the Club, its great fans and all of Major League Baseball. My office will continue its thorough investigation into the operations and finances of the Dodgers and related entities during the period of Mr. McCourt’s ownership. I will announce the name of my representative in the next several days. The Dodgers have been one of the most prestigious franchises in all of sports, and we owe it to their legion of loyal fans to ensure that this club is being operated properly now and will be guided appropriately in the future.

Well.. of course it happened. A few hoods using any excuse to fight cast a negative light on all of us who just want to get along and enjoy a ball game. Look, we can be friends.

“I do that very well,” Vin says when asked if he spent a relaxing off-season. “I broke my toe, and that was fun — slipping on a wood floor in my stocking feet. I had a root canal, and that was fun. Oh, yeah, I had something that’s one less than having a colonoscopy. So yes, I’m looking forward to coming to the ballpark.”
