In a year that has been so improbable, the incredible has happened.
Not Magic. Not Hanley Ramirez. Not Adrian Gonzalez. Better than all of that.
Vin Scully is coming back. The Dodgers are expected to announce Sunday that Scully will return to the Dodgers’ broadcast booth next season.
Vin’s back, you guys. Everything else is gravy.

It’s nights like this — and 6-1 wins — that make me love Twitter.
A better photo from the Dodgers facebook. Living in Brooklyn, I’m going to have to pay whatever it takes on ebay. I usually get one for about 30 bucks shipped, so this will probably be lots more. I’m okay with that.
I felt, my gosh, they’re opening up a season and here they are saluting an announcer. I was overwhelmed. I had all kinds of emotions, many of which were humility, thinking I’m just another guy. I’m the most ordinary person you ever met. And here’s this big deal, and I’m sick. It was a very humbling opening day for me.

“I do that very well,” Vin says when asked if he spent a relaxing off-season. “I broke my toe, and that was fun — slipping on a wood floor in my stocking feet. I had a root canal, and that was fun. Oh, yeah, I had something that’s one less than having a colonoscopy. So yes, I’m looking forward to coming to the ballpark.”
He was an extremely gifted talent and his defensive abilities were often overlooked because of playing in a small ballpark, Ebbets Field. When he had a chance to run and move defensively, he had the grace and the abilities of DiMaggio and Mays and of course, he was a World Series hero that will forever be remembered in the borough of Brooklyn. Although it’s ironic to say it, we have lost a giant. He’s joining a great Dodger team that has moved on and I extend my sympathies to his entire family, especially to Bev.
