Cepeda is batting .600 in the WBC with 10 RBI’s and 3 Home Runs. At 28 years old he is the star of the Sancti Spiritus in his home country of Cuba. Like all Cuban players he is not allowed to speak directly to the press, has no phone in his hotel room and is chaperoned at all times to make sure he doesn’t defect. In Cuba he lives in a government supplied one story house with his wife and infant son and drives a government supplied car. In America he would most likely be one of the top 5 highest payed baseball players in the major leagues. Kinda makes me sad.
