So towards the end of the game a Giants fan texted my friend Kristin and said “Still think you don’t need Manny? Haha” or something to that effect. To which I told her to reply, “Not unless Manny can pitch.” I know it’s just the Nationals, but our offense definitely didn’t lose that game. 9 runs on 14 hits is a pretty damn good performance I would say. However Troncoso, Ohman, Wade, Leach, and McDonald all gave up runs. I’m pretty sure there isn’t much Manny could have done about that. We have 8 million extra in the bankroll for 2009 now, wish we had used it to keep Beimel.
