1962 Topps Dodgers Team Card
I love team cards. Not only are they awesome, but they are pretty much always affordable. I think I picked this one up for a couple dollars shipped on the ‘bay. I don’t know, it was a long time ago. One thing I do know is that it looks good propped up on some bobbleheads.
Because it’s All-Vin-Scully-All-The-Time, here’s a picture of me from a few weeks ago when I got to take a tour of the press box. I’d never been on the Club level before and it’s pretty nice! This was part of the deal where Lindsey’s work gets to take over the stadium and we got to play out in the field, throw in the bullpen, take batting practice and basically just hang out in the happiest place on Earth.
Side note: the shirt I’m wearing is the ‘88 World Series champions shirt that had the faces of key players from that team. One of the “Dodgers Legends” on hand that day was Tim Leary (the other was Bill Russell) who played on that team. At one point when I was taking grounders on the infield near him, he said, “hey, come here and let me take a look at your shirt.” He studied it for a minute and said, “Looks like I didn’t make the cut. But John Tudor did?” That was awkward.
Awesome!

Did you know that once FIELDfx is installed in every Major League park, this is how baseball is going to look all the time?
You guys all know the LFP blog right? (If not you should). A friend of his lost his nephew and is holding a car wash in LA on Sunday to raise money for funeral expenses. If you live in LA and need a car wash, please go. Click the link for all the information.
eBay Score
10 bucks shipped got me a sweet ‘59 Topps Sandy Koufax. The seller described it as having “heavy creasing” and being a “filler card” but the creasing is just on the surface of the front and it otherwise looks great. A very good deal for such an amazing card

Kershaw and Kemp are two great reasons to keep watching the Dodgers during this disappointing season.
