I have to clear it up again I guess…

Due to the strange amount of shit talking that starts (mostly from your direction to ours for some reason) this time of year I feel compelled once again to remind you…
Angels fans. Your team is in Orange County and.. SURPRISE! It’s an American League team.
Your rivals are the Rangers, they have kept you out of the Playoffs 2 years in a row now and made it to the World Series. You play them MANY more times a year than you play the Dodgers. We play against each other 6 games a season and that’s the only time you can consider it a rivalry. We aren’t jealous of your Pujols signing, a National league team giving him any more than 4 or 5 years would be insane. Sure we might be a little jealous of CJ but, we have Clayton. Our rivals are the Giants (and the Padres, Dbacks, Rockies, and even the Phillies before the Angels).
So stop listening to Newspaper/MLB.com articles that stir up the LA Rivalry when you aren’t even an LA team. Get your own rivals.

Two new Dodgers prints over at Sports Propaganda. Pretty cool stuff. They have some old Manny & Russell Martin at bargain prices as well, I’m sure those are flying off the shelves.

“Some people die twice: once when they retire, and again when they actually pass away. Fear of the first one is a big incentive for me to keep working. Players, writers, people who work at the ballpark and front office, when I quit I know I’ll never see them again. I’ve never been the type to come to the ballpark and hang out; I’ve gone to one game in the last 60 years that I wasn’t working. I keep working because I don’t want to lose my friends.” —

Jonathan Broxton signs one year deal with the Royals.
Looks like big Brox will be wearing blue next year, just not Dodger blue. At least it will be easy for Topps to airbrush his baseball card. I stuck up for him for a while after he was destroyed by Torre in 2010, probably longer than I should have. I’ll miss his lights out days but I wont miss the horrible uncertainty of his 9th innings since then.

“I’m going to go 50-50 next year. I’m telling you, y’all created a monster. I’m about to get back in the weight room super tough so I can be as strong as I was last year….I’m serious. If I don’t [get there], it means I let y’all down and lied to you, and I don’t like being a liar.” — Matt Kemp on his plans for 2012. (via oldtimefamilybaseball)
